Chauffeur Guide: Advance Booking & Hourly Feature
This document explains the advance ride booking process for chauffeurs, especially how hourly bookings work, and what to expect during scheduled rides.
Overview
- When a user books an advance (scheduled) ride, the operation team assigns the ride to a chauffeur.
- For hourly bookings, the pickup and drop locations are the same; the booking displays both the location and the number of hours.
- As a chauffeur, scheduled rides can only be marked 'Arrived at Pickup' up to 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
- The request screen shows all relevant ride details: scheduled date/time, total distance, duration, amount, enhancements, and passenger information.
Step-by-Step Process
1. Receiving an Advance Booking
- You will get a notification with key details about the ride:
- Scheduled date/time
- Pickup location
- Duration (for hourly rides)
- Total ride distance and fare
- User-specified enhancements like preferred amenities
- Passenger name
2. Viewing the Request
- The request screen provides a clear summary of the booking:
- Scheduled time, distance, and duration
- Earned amount for the ride
- Details like language preference, bag count, and ride type (quiet ride)
Passenger’s name and profile rating
3. Hourly Booking Specifics
- On hourly bookings, pickup and drop address will be identical.
- The screen highlights the number of hours booked prominently.
- The chauffeur can review the location and hourly period before accepting the ride.
- After accepting the ride, and within 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, the partner can mark "Confirm Arrival."
- The screen will display the pickup location and a slider that shows the duration of the ride booked, the amount, ride preferences, the fare, and the scheduled pickup time.
4. Point-to-point Ride
- For point-to-point advance bookings, the process is similar to hourly rides.
- On the accept screen, both pickup and drop locations are displayed, along with scheduled time, distance, duration, total fare, ride preferences, and passenger information.
- The chauffeur cannot mark "Arrive at Pickup" until 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time, just like with hourly bookings.
5. Airport rides
- Airport advance bookings function similarly to hourly and point-to-point bookings.
- The drop location on the accept screen displays the airport selected by the user, with flight details.
- The same restriction applies: chauffeurs cannot mark "Arrive at Pickup" until 30 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
- All ride, payment, and preference details are presented clearly along with passenger information.
6. Acceptance & Restrictions
- Once ready, tap “Accept.”
- If the Chauffeur cancels an advanced booking, they will not be eligible for new offers for a period.
Tips
- Review enhancements added by the user, such as preferred vehicle type or ride conditions, to ensure a positive experience.
- Confirm readiness well ahead, but only mark arrival as permitted—up to 30 minutes before scheduled time.
- Ensure all details match the ride summary before accepting.
